How Habiba’s Beauty Helps African Children One Makeup at a Time

Those that are greatly affected are the most vulnerable members of society - the women and children.

Extreme poverty in Africa has led to hunger, labor, and, most of all, healthcare problems. One issue is the growing AIDS crisis in the continent. Twenty-five million Africans are infected with the HIV Virus, including 2.9 million children. Many have lost one or even both parents and live as AIDS orphans on the street.

Growing up in a large family in Africa, Habiba Maulidi experienced the hardships of poverty first hand. She witnessed how her parents struggled to make ends meet despite both of them having a job. Aside from seeing their struggles, Habiba has also witnessed the heartbreaking scenario of orphans living in the streets day in and day out and how they are struggling to survive every single day. This scenario lit up a fire in Habiba. Since then, it has become her mission to help orphans not only in the States but most especially the children of Africa.

In December 2018, shortly after moving to America, Habiba established her beauty company, Habiba’s Beauty, and her cosmetic brand HDM Gold. Through these business ventures, Habiba hopes to raise money to help orphans who were never given a chance to be raised by their parents.

Habiba’s Beauty is a beauty company that specializes in beauty and retail. The business sells quality makeup, and hair products online. One of their best-sellers is their hair collection. Habiba’s Beauty made sure that their hair-collection is of top quality and one the best offered in the market. Their product is made up of 100% human hair, and unlike others, it has a volume that makes it more realistic. Through proper maintenance, these products can last for up to three years.

Her makeup line HDM Gold is named as such because, for Habiba, a woman’s beauty is gold. HDM Gold’s line includes a 35 color eye shadow palette, five shades of lipstick, three shades of liquid foundation, and three shades of press powder. All of HDM Gold’s products are 100% cruelty-free and are not tested on any living creature. Furthermore, HDM Gold caters to all skin types but puts priority on dark-skinned women as they have a harder time trying to find a foundation that fits their complexion in most beauty stores.

Habiba’s Beauty and HDM Gold also take pride in the excellent customer service they offer. Both companies make sure to check on their customers regularly from the moment they purchase a product up until they receive their packages.

Through her business ventures, Habiba not only aims to help the orphans of Africa. She also hopes to inspire a younger generation of girls that no matter where one started in life, they can still achieve their dreams.
