Tahmell Griffin: The Rise of a Hip-Hop Prodigy

Tahmell Griffin: The Rise of a Hip-Hop Prodigy

Born in Long Island, New York, in July of 1988, Tahmell had been following his father’s music career while growing up. Aside from the guidance and inspiration shared by his father, Tahmell was also greatly influenced by the likes of Big Daddy Kane, Busta Rhymes, Dj Primer, Nas, and many more. These musical influences and the wisdom that Tahmell acquired from them made him create his own personality and style in the world of hip-hop.

Being the son of hip-hop legend, Rakim, the expectations for Tahmell had been quite overwhelming. However, he has always believed in creating his path, not by following his father’s legendary success but by sharing his unique personality and style of music. He wants to be known as Tahmell, emerging as a hip-hop prodigy of his generation.

Tahmell connects with his audience by being true and organic with his personality and style. For years, he has worked and collaborated with hip-hop artists on a few singles. In 2019, the song Fly Elephant has gained numerous listeners on Spotify, followed by Where Did She Go. For Tahmell, he is still progressing into creating an identity for his music. Even though he is often associated with Rakim’s success, Tahmell is set to break the status quo and build a different impact on his audience.

With music running in his bloodline, Tahmell has been working on his craft independently. He has been writing his own material and producing mix masters. With the combination of art, passion, and determination, Tahmell has just finished recording his first official studio album, Home, which is set to be released either end of June or beginning of July. Home will be distributed and supported by United Masters. Tahmell will be smashing the hip-hop world with Home’s first single, Ballerina.

Tahmell envisions himself to be a hip-hop prodigy. As his lyrics and melodies are unique, appealing, and relatable to his audience, Tahmell still strives to attain the art of perfection. As Tahmell puts it, he is for the people. Thus, he continues to listen to feedback and derive from them the motivation and inspiration to do better in the creative process.

A breakthrough in the world of hip-hop, Tahmell is adamant in creating his unique personality and style. With the upcoming release of his first studio album, Home, he is ready to share his years of hard work in creating music that resonates with his experiences and aspirations. He is excited to smash the hip-hop arena with his songs, as well as make Rakim proud of what he has created for himself. He aims to bring back the confidence of people to the genre of hip-hop and make them understand how it evolved for years.

For Tahmell, hip-hop is an art of expression, culture, and movement that represents New York City, the African-Americans, Latin Americans, and Caribbean Americans who revolutionize a new kind of music style. He wants to retain that culture and give more pride to his hip-hop community. Check out Tahmell’s music on United Masters.
