Ivan Del Rosario Castillo: Channeling His Identity Through Art to Help Teenagers

Art is a universal way of expressing thoughts and feelings. For over how many years, the industry has grown to adapt to different styles from different cultures. But what is the definition of art for people?

Every one of us is born with an inherent desire to express ourselves and Ivan Del Rosario Castillo has been doing it through art. The eighteen-year-old artist established his art company to change the current teens’ perspective of art. He wants to show everyone how art is something that lasts, may it be a piece of literature, a painting, a drawing, or a song. Art has always been something that influenced and engaged people to think or even act.

His platform is currently featuring a collection he has been working on for a year. The album series is called Wonderland 2002, which was heavily inspired by the Dada Art Movement, an art movement formed during the First World War in Zurich depicting the adverse reaction to the horrors and foolishness brought about by the conflict.

The fact that he was born in 2002 prompted the name for the album. Castillo incorporated a new art format to showcase his creativity by trying out the colorful and bright hues of the 80s. He also tailored the paintings to reflect his life and show how he became the person he is today.

Castillo’s main goal for the company is to create art and send a message to his fellow teenagers. He also wants to market his content for an affordable price to give people who can relate to it an opportunity to own one. Teenagers go through a lot of stuff, and sometimes all they need is art, music, or books to express themselves and find their identity.

He also wants to break the stereotype that people and fellow artists feel when they hear the word art. Some people think they have to be creating sculptures. Some think an artist is someone old who wears baggy clothes. Or someone who makes highly expensive art out of some fa

Fancy type of paint to sell them on a very high price range. These are just some of the misconceptions floating around about art.

Castillo wants to change that by sending a message that art is something that one creates for one’s self. It’s what people channel their identity into - their personality, beliefs, history, and thoughts. It is also about how one channels emotions. Art is for sending messages out to the public about what matters the most to oneself.

The young visionary is fully committed to making and presenting his art to the rest of the community. He has a strong determination and work ethic and these are seen in how he works on improving his talent and attitude towards art.

Most of Castillo’s works of art are inspired by what he goes through in life, the influence of happenings in society, books and movies, love, and life issues. He reaches out to his fellow teenagers who go through the same experiences as him to give them a proper perspective of the situation.
