On Saturday evening, the President will deliver remarks at the CBC Foundation Annual Phoenix Awards Dinner at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The First Lady will also attend. The President’s remarks are open to pre-credentialed media.

On Sunday, the President and First Lady will visit with families of the victims of the Washington Navy Yard shooting and attend a Washington Navy Yard Memorial. The memorial will be held at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C. The President’s remarks will be pooled for TV and open to pre-credentialed correspondents and still photographers.

Schedule for the Week of September 23, 2013

On Monday, the President and the First Lady will travel to New York City for the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The President and the First Lady will remain overnight in New York City.

On Tuesday, the President will deliver remarks to the UN General Assembly; the First Lady will attend the event. Later in the day, the President will visit the Clinton Global Initiative where he and President Clinton will engage in a conversation about the benefits and future of health care reform in America, and access to quality health care around the globe. In the evening, the President will attend an event for the DNC before returning with the First Lady to the White House.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the President will attend meetings at the White House.

On Friday, the President will welcome Prime Minister Singh of India to the White House for a bilateral meeting. This meeting follows the Prime Minister’s visit to Washington in 2009, and the President’s visit to India in 2010, and it will highlight India’s role in regional security and stability and provide an opportunity for the two leaders to chart a course toward enhanced trade, investment, and development cooperation between the United States and India.
